For the first time in Academy history, the Massachusetts Maritime offshore sailing team raced a boat comprised solely by an all-female crew. 

Competing in the 2012 Figawi Race from Hyannis to Nantucket, the “Ole” was skippered by 2008 graduate Jen Stone and crewed by senior Christina Colarusso (Middleboro, Mass.), junior Brooke Johnson (Hingham, Mass.), sophomores Jennifer March (Pawtucket, R.I.) and Kaitlyn Nanartowich (Newport, R.I.) as well as freshman Camille Aiello (Hamden, Conn.).

The “Ole” finished ninth of 14 entrants in Division D in the prestigious race, besting their nearest competitor by more than 20 minutes.
