NEWPORT, R.I./BOSTON, Mass. -- The Massachusetts Maritime sailing team posted a pair of top 17 performances during competition at both the Salve Regina Southern Series One and Boston University Between The Bridges Regattas that took place over the weekend.
Junior Michael Reney (Duxbury, Mass.), sophomore Kaitlyn Nanartowich (Newport, R.I.) and freshmen Sean McLaughlin (Fairhaven, Mass.), Peter Markarian (Hyannis, Mass.) and Matthew Charpentier (Lunenburg, Mass.) comprised the crews for the Buccaneers at Salve Regina, as Massachusetts Maritime placed 12th of 19 teams competing in the event that consisted of eight races in each division.
Freshmen Andrew Morgan (Jupiter, Fla.) and Camille Aiello (Hamden, Conn.) headed the “A” Division crew for the Buccaneers at the Between The Bridges Regatta, while fellow freshmen Marshall Bailey (West Dover, Vt.) and Matthew Ferlotti (Fairfax, Va.) sailed in the “B” Division competition, as the two squads combined for a 17th place overall finish in the event.
Massachusetts Maritime returns to action with competition next weekend at the Salve Regina Southern Series Three, Boston University Trophy and UConn Tyrell Trophy Regattas.
