NEWPORT, R.I/BOSTON, Mass. --  The freshman tandem of Sean McLaughlin (Fairhaven, Mass.) and Camille Aiello (Hamden, Conn.) posted a solid performance as part of a busy weekend for the Massachusetts Maritime sailing team, as the duo placed fourth overall at the UConn Tyrell Trophy.

McLaughlin and Aiello recorded a first place performance as part of the Tyrell Trophy competition for the Buccaneers, who were just three points out of second place in the event.  McLaughlin and Aiello teamed with fellow freshman Marshall Bailey (West Dover, Vt.) and Priscilla Stoll (Pocasset, Mass.) to finish ninth out of 20 teams at the Southern Series II Regatta in combined “A” and “B” division competition.

The freshman quartet of Daniel Barry (Dartmouth, Mass.), Andrew Morgan (Jupiter, Fla.), Matthew Ferlotti (Fairfax, Va.) and Matthew Charpentier (Lunenburg, Mass.) represented Massachusetts Maritime at the Boston University Trophy, as the Buccaneers placed 18th overall in the event.

Massachusetts Maritime will host the Admiral Alymer’s Trophy next weekend while also competing at the New England Dinghy Championships and Coast Guard Kruger Cup.
