NASHUA, N.H. --  The Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team closed out its 2011 season on Saturday afternoon by dropping a pair of 3-0 decisions to Westfield State and host Rivier in a tri-match played at the Muldoon Sports Center.

Freshman Kelsey Pelletier (Bristol, Conn.) registered four kills in the opening setback for the Buccaneers (0-28, 0-6 MASCAC) against the Owls (13-20, 6-0 MASCAC), as Westfield State took the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing by game scores of 25-12, 25-5 and 25-8.  Junior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) added a pair of kills and three digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received three digs from sophomore Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.) to go with six set assists and five digs from freshman Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.).

Pelletier and Burgess-Chrost each notched three kills in the Buccaneers’ non-league nightcap setback to the host Raiders (19-13), which came by game scores of 25-3, 25-7 and 25-11.  Garrity chipped in with three digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received five set assists and three digs from Langley.
