BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Sophomore Leila Goldkuhl (Framingham, Mass.) notched eight kills and four service aces to lead Salem State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday evening by game scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-14 in a league match played at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

Senior Rachel Murphy (Wallingford, Conn.), sophomore Alexandra Williams (Revere, Mass.) and freshman Karya Bowen (Westford, Mass.) each added four kills in the triumph for the visiting Vikings (3-14, 1-4 MASCAC), who also received three kills and five digs from sophomore Samantha Radke (Lanesboro, Mass.) as well as nine digs from junior Kenia McKeon (Peabody, Mass.).  Junior MacKenzie Carpenter (Peabody, Mass.) chipped in with 15 set assists and five service aces for Salem State, which also received six service aces from senior Jazmin Barrows (New Bedford, Mass.).

Sophomore Ashley Button (Southfield, Mass.) registered three kills and three digs in the setback for the host Buccaneers (0-23, 0-4 MASCAC), who also received a combined four kills and 12 digs from junior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) and sophomore Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.).  Freshman Kelsey Pelletier (Bristol, Conn.) added two kills and two digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received three digs and two set assists from freshman Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) and seven set assists, six digs and three service aces from freshman Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Boston on Saturday afternoon to take on Wentworth in a non-league outing that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Salem State hosts Mount Ida in a non-league match on Thursday evening in Salem, Mass. beginning at 7:00 p.m.
