MILTON, Mass. --  Junior Kaitlyn Poirier (Acushnet, Mass.) registered six kills, 14 set assists and 10 service aces to lead Curry to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-14, 25-10 and 25-16 Tuesday evening at the Student Center Gym.

Sophomore Courtney DiBiasio (Coventry, R.I.) added eight kills and 10 digs in the season-opening triumph for the host Colonels (1-0), who also received four kills and four service aces from junior Kendra LeMay (Chicopee, Mass.).

Sophomore Katja Juergens (Boylston, Mass.) registered a career-high three kills in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-4), who received 10 digs each from junior Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.) as well as five set assists from freshman Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Suffolk in a non-league outing on Thursday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Curry travels to Northampton, Mass. on Saturday morning to take on Smith and Elms in a non-league tri-match that begins at 11:00 a.m.
