LEICESTER, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-0 non-league decisions to both Bay Path and host Becker in a tri-match played Saturday afternoon at Leicester Gym.

Junior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) notched a combined four kills in the setbacks for the Buccaneers (0-14), who fell to the Wildcats (7-6) in the opener by game scores of 25-4, 25-7 and 25-6 before falling to the host Hawks (3-10) by game scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-11.  Freshmen Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) and Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) each added a pair of kills in the setback to Becker, while junior Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) posted a combined 14 digs, including nine against Bay Path for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a pair of set assists each from sophomores Ashley Button (Southfield, Mass.) and Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.).

Sophomore Kate Bartels (Dalton, Mass.) collected six kills and 11 service aces for Bay Path, which also posted a 3-0 victory over Becker in the first match of the day, while freshman Kacie Bayreuther (East Lyme, Conn.) added six kills and seven digs for the Wildcats, who also received 16 set assists from junior Ashley Provost (Ludlow, Mass.).

Junior Nicole Morse (Alton, N.H.) registered seven kills in Becker’s triumph over the Buccaneers, while freshmen Danielle Robbie (Bellingham, Mass.) and Lauren LaVallee (Millbury, Mass.) added six kills and 13 set assists, respectively, for the Hawks.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Bridgewater, Mass. on Wednesday evening to take on Bridgewater State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match that begins at 6:00 p.m.  Bay Path heads to South Hadley, Mass. next Saturday afternoon for a tri-match with Mills and host Mount Holyoke that begins at 2:00 p.m., while Becker travels to Hartford, Conn. on Monday evening to take on Saint Joseph (Conn.) in a non-league match that begins at 7:00 p.m.
