CHICOPEE, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team wrapped up season-opening play at the Elms Blazer Invitational on Saturday morning by dropping a 3-0 non-league decision to Husson by game scores of 25-9, 25-6 and 25-3 at Picknelly Arena.

Sophomore Ashley Button (Southfield, Mass.) recorded four digs in the setback for the Buccaneers (0-3), who also received a pair of service aces and three digs from junior Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) as well as three digs each from junior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) and sophomore Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.).

Junior Hannah Olstad (Farmington, N.H.) led the Eagles (3-0) with nine kills and six service aces in the triumph, as Husson took the tournament crown by dropping just one set along the way for the weekend.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Milton, Mass. on Tuesday evening to take on Curry in a non-league outing that begins at 6:00 p.m.
