WORCESTER, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-0 non-league decisions to host Clark and Salve Regina in tri-match action on Saturday afternoon at Kneller Gymnasium.

Junior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) registered a combined six kills (three in each contest) in the setbacks for the Buccaneers (0-22), who fell to the host Cougars (8-12) by game scores of 25-5, 25-7 and 25-11 and to the Seahawks (14-7) by game scores of 25-7, 25-12 and 25-11.  Freshman Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) added three kills, four set assists and four digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received four kills from freshman Kelsey Pelletier (Bristol, Conn.).  Junior Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) chipped in with 12 digs in the two contests for the Buccaneers, who also received 10 set assists from freshman Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Salem State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Tuesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Clark heads to New London, Conn. on Tuesday evening to take on Coast Guard in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference outing that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Salve Regina hosts Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference clash on Tuesday evening in Newport, R.I. that also begins at 7:00.
