Women's Soccer: Bears Squeak by Bucs in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Mass -- The Buccaneers traveled to Bridgewater State on Saturday to take on the Bears in their penultimate conference game of the season. The Bears scored early and that was enough for a 1-0 win over Maritime.

Julia Podchaiski led the Buccaneers with two shots, one on target. Regan Kerecz made eight saves and allowed the one Bridgewater goal.

Michelle Belcher was the goal scorer for the Bears in the 12th minute with the game winner. Bailey Brown was credited with the assist on the goal. Goalkeeper Logan Levesque made one save in the win.

Bridgewater outshot the Buccaneers 29-4 and were only able to muster the one goal. The Bears also had nine corner kicks to the Bucs two. 

The Buccaneers will be in Nashua, N.H. on Monday at 7pm to complete their game against Rivier from September 13th. There are 40 minutes left in the match and the Bucs are leading the Raiders 1-0.
