Women's Soccer: Damery Scores First Career Goal in Win

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- On Wednesday evening, the Buccaneers took on the Fisher Falcons at home in their final complete non-conference game of the season. Jackie Damery was the difference as she scored her first career goal, the game winner, to down the Falcons 1-0.

Damery scored in the 30th minute, a lead the Bucs protected for the final 60 minutes of the contest. Julia Podchaiski was credited with the assist on the goal. Goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz picked up her second win between the pipes making four saves while pitching the shutout. Julia Quindley led the team in shots on target with four. She took seven shots in total. 

The Falcons took four shots on target, all by different players. Goalkeeper Olivia Leo made seven saves in goal and allowed one goal in the loss.

Maritime outshot Fisher 18 shots to 10. The Bucs had eight on target to four from the Falcons. Maritime did not surrender a corner kick in the match and they had two of their own offensively. 

The Buccaneers are on the road on Saturday for their next match against Bridgewater State in conference play at 12pm.
