Women's Soccer: Buccaneers Take a Point in Scoreless Draw with Mariners

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Buccaneer women's soccer (0-1-1) hosted the Mitchell Mariners (0-2) on Thursday evening in a non-conference matchup at home. Maritime outshot the Mariners and were unable to find the back of the net as the game finished in a scoreless draw.

The Bucs took a total of 20 shots in the game, 11 on target. Kylie MaherAriel Damery, and Taylor Blanton each took four shots. All of Blanton's shots were on target with Damery being on target three times. Jackie Damery took two shots, both on target. Freshman goalkeeper Brady Deschamps was not challenged in the game and earned the point in the draw.

Mitchell took a total of three shots, none on target. Elon Johnson took two of the three shots. Goalkeepers Angelina Munoz and Gemma Landry combined for 11 saves in the game with Landry making seven of them. 

The Bucs outshot Mitchell 20-3. Each team had four corners in the game, all four of the Maritime corners coming late in the second half. Both teams committed six fouls.

The Buccaneers, now 0-1-2 on the season, are on the road for their next game on Tuesday, September 19th against Rivier in Nashua, N.H.
