WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team dropped a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference decision to Westfield State on Tuesday evening by game scores of 25-7, 25-12 and 25-4 in a league match played at the Woodward Center.
Senior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.) registered three kills in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (1-16, 0-4 MASCAC), who also received a pair of service aces from sophomore Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) as well as four set assists from senior Allison Condino (Fitchburg, Mass.).
The host Owls improve to 11-8 overall and 2-0 in MASCAC play with the triumph.
Massachusetts Maritime heads to Framingham, Mass. on Thursday evening for a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match with Framingham State that begins at 6:00 p.m., while Westfield State travels to Springfield, Mass. to take on host Springfield in opening round action of the Tom Hay Invitational that begins at 7:00 p.m.
