FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Freshman Maribeth Martin (Marstons Mills, Mass.) registered 18 set assists and four aces to lead Framingham State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Thursday evening at the Athletic & Recreation Center.

Freshman Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) added seven kills and nine aces in the triumph for the host Rams (13-10, 2-0 MASCAC), who prevailed by game scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-1.

Sophomore Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) notched a pair of kills in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (1-17, 0-5 MASCAC), who also received a kill and an ace from senior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.) as well as four set assists from senior Allison Condino (Fitchburg, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime will be idle until Tuesday evening when the Buccaneers host Salem State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Framingham State travels to Brookline, Mass. on Saturday morning for a non-league tri-match at Newbury that begins at 11:00 a.m.
