Massachusetts Maritime freshman midfielder Jacob Crawford was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon for his efforts in a pair of Buccaneer victories last week.

Crawford, a native of Rockland, Mass. and a graduate of Rockland High School, netted a pair of goals and an assist for five points, including the game-winning tally in last Friday’s 2-0 triumph over Framingham State at Clean Harbors Stadium that vaulted Massachusetts Maritime into second place in the league standings.  Jacob also collected a marker and helper in last Wednesday’s 4-1 non-league win at Anna Maria, and he has now taken over the team scoring lead for the season.

Head Coach Greg Perry’s Buccaneers seek their fourth straight victory on Tuesday evening when Massachusetts Maritime renews rivalries with Coast Guard in a non-league clash at Clean Harbors Stadium that begins at 7:00 pm EDT.
