Men's Soccer Picked Fourth In 2017 MASCAC Pre-Season Poll

If the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches are correct in their prognostications, the Massachusetts Maritime men’s soccer team will secure its fifth straight post-season berth this fall, as Head Coach Greg Perry’s Buccaneers are picked fourth in the league’s annual pre-season poll that was released earlier today.

Massachusetts Maritime, which reached the conference semifinals for the third time in four seasons in 2016, received 28 points in this year’s MASCAC poll, as defending champion Worcester State is picked to capture the regular season crown with three first place votes and 45 points.  Bridgewater State also collected three first place votes in the runner-up spot with 40 points, while Framingham State garnered the other two first place votes in third place with 39 points.  Fitchburg State earned the fifth spot with 23 points in the coaches’ poll, while Salem State (18), MCLA (17) and Westfield State (14) rounded out the picks.

The Buccaneers begin Perry’s 25th season at the helm on Saturday, September 2nd when Massachusetts Maritime heads to East Boston, Mass. to tangle with Suffolk in a non-league match at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
