FINAL:              DEAN 3, MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 1

FRANKLIN, Mass. --  Freshman Felipe Campos (Barnstable, Mass.) netted a hat trick to lead Dean to a 3-1 non-league college men’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Monday afternoon at Lippert Field.

Campos staked the host Bulldogs (12-1-2) to a 1-0 lead just 2:32 into the contest with an unassisted goal, but sophomore Andrew Wayrynen (Rockport, Mass.) evened matters in the 21st minute of play for the visiting Buccaneers (5-10-1) with his second tally of the season on a feed from junior Brendan Gawron (Braintree, Mass.).  Campos gave Dean the lead for good in the 35th minute with his second unassisted marker of the match, and he completed his hat trick with a penalty kick conversion in the 70th minute to account for the final margin.

Freshman Devin Moore (Walpole, Mass.) picked up the win in goal by making eight saves for Dean, while junior Connor Murphy (Mashpee, Mass.) made six stops in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime as the Bulldogs outshot the Buccaneers by a 22-16 margin and took all six corner kicks in the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Worcester State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference clash on Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Dean heads to Leicester, Mass. to square off with Becker in a New England Collegiate Conference clash that begins at 4:00 p.m.
