McLean Earns Spot On 2014 NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Team

Massachusetts Maritime sophomore midfielder Reed McLean was named today to the 2014 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse second team all-conference squad in a vote of the league’s seven coaches.

A native of Wilbraham, Mass. and a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School, McLean ranked second on the Buccaneer scoring list with 19 goals (including six man-up markers) and seven assists for 26 points in 14 contests, as he added 22 ground balls and five caused turnovers on the season.  He notched a hat trick in his collegiate debut that came in a 16-4 victory over Albertus Magnus on March 8th, and five of his tallies came in NEWMAC play.

Massachusetts Maritime recorded seven victories for the second time in three years under the guidance of fourth year Head Coach Rory Deegan this spring, as the Buccaneers claimed the inaugural Maritime Cup championship with wins over rivals Maine Maritime and SUNY-Maritime in mid-March.
