The Board of Trustees Award was established in 1997 and presented to a senior student-athlete who best exemplifies the spirit and philosophy of Division III athletics.

Lily Hakkarainen placed in the top three of each Travis Fuller Race she ran in her career and was an instrumental part of not only the women's cross-country team but also the women's track & field team. She currently holds two program records in track and field in the 1500 meter run and as a part of the record holding 4x800 meter relay team.
