Men's Track Finished Strong at Conn College

NEW LONDON, CT -- Buccaneer track and field spend the weekend competing at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational. With a handful of top 10 finishes and a new program record in the 800 meter run, Maritime fared well in their fourth meet of the season.

On Friday afternoon, Joshua Christensen finished third overall in the javelin with a throw of 50.23 meters. Liam Higgins finished 14th in the javelin with a throw of 44.31 meters.

The men's 4x800 relay team, composed of Joshua GriffinDavid GaravitoEthan Hahn, and Ben Tuttle finished fifth with a time of 10:20.61. 

The 4x400 meter relay team with Anthony ChildsZach CochranAlec Goldenberg, and Thoas Hayes finished eighth overall with a time of 3:50.46. 

Goldenberg had himself a day as he set the new program record in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.759, breaking the previous record set by Goldenberg in 2021.

In the men's 400 meter run, Childs picked up a top 20 finish with a time of 51.66 seconds, good for 18th overall.

Joshua Rousseau finished ninth overall in the discus and hammer throws with throws of 39.15 meters and 42.55 meters respectively. 

The Buccaneers are back in Connecticut next weekend for the Eastern Invitational at Eastern Connecticut.
