Reddish Makes 13 Saves in Buccaneer Loss to Lynx

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Maritime welcomed the Lesley Lynx to Clean Harbors Stadium on Tuesday evening in one of their final two non-conference games of the 2021 season. The sounds Lynx team took down the Bucs 4-0.

The Basics

For The Bucs

  • Freshman Taylor Blanton (Auburn, MA) took two of the five Buccaneer shots in the game with one on target. 
  • Junior Captain Julia Quindley (Plymouth, MA) and freshman Kylie Maher (Halifax, MA) each took a shot on goal.
  • Sophomore Ally Reddish (Canton, MA), making her second start of her career in goal, made 13 saves and allowed four goals on 17 shots.

For The Lynx

  • Abby Kalou scored twice for the Lynx, both in the second half.
  • Claire Hounslow scored what would be come the game winner in the second minute of the game.
  • Katie Denger also scored for the visitors in the 21st minute.
  • Isabella Danna was credited with an assist on the Hounslow score.
  • Starting keeper Audrey Calhoun picked up the win playing 45 of the 90 minutes. She made one save and was replaced at the start of the second half. Her relief, Lauren Lacy made two saves in the second half.

How It Happened

Lesley scored first and early in the game; with just 1:45 off the clock, Hounslow received a pass from Danna in the middle of the 18 and put the ball in to the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage. The Lynx would double their lead in the 21st minute on Denger's score, unassisted. The Bucs took two shots in the half and the Maritime defense held the Lynx at bay until the halftime whistle. 

The Lynx scored twice in the second half on a Kalou goal in the 64th minute and then again in the 90th minute on a misplayed ball by the Buccaneers that she tucked in to the net. Lesley took the non-conference match 4-0 over the Bucs.

What's Next

The Buccaneers will host Bridgewater State on Friday, October 22nd at 7pm in conference play. It will also be senior night for the two seniors on the roster, captain Shannon Elwood (Kingston, MA) and Hayley Caufield (Cheshire, MA).
