Musial Scores her First Career Goal in Loss to Rams

FRAMINGHAM, Mass -- Women's soccer took on Framingham State in conference play on the road on Saturday. With two career first for the Bucs, they fell to the Rams 6-1.

For The Bucs

  • Freshman Bailey Musial (Quincy, MA) scored her first career goal in a Buccaneer uniform in the 63rd minute.
  • Junior captain Julia Quindley (Plymouth, MA) picked up her second assist of the season on the Musial score.
  • In her goalkeeping debut, Ally Reddish (Canton, MA) made six saves and allowed the six Ram goals.

For The Rams

  • Calen Frongillo scored twice for Framingham on three shots.
  • Olivia RendaCamryn O'LearyJasmine Lees, and Cathryn Cooney all scored a goal each in the win.
  • O'Leary and Cooney each tallied two assists. Lees and Frongillo had an assist apiece.
  • Goalkeeper Jetta Oskirko picked up the win though she did not make a save and allowed the lone Buccaneer goal.

How It Happened

All of the Rams scoring came in the first half and in the first 40 minutes of play. Cooney scored in the 8th minute, Lees in the 12th, Frongillo scored her first and second back to back in the 19th and 20th minutes, 31 seconda apart. O'Leary scored in the 34th and Renda rounded out the scoring in the 39th to make it 6-0 Framingham. The Buccaneers wrre unable to record a shot in the first 45 minutes of play. 

In the second half, Reddish and the Buccaneer defense beared down and didn't allow another Frmaingham score. Then, in the 63rd minute, Musial erased the shutout opportunity with her first career score from Quindley. It was the only shot on target the Bucs would get as they fell to the Rams 6-1 in MASCAC play.

Maritime is at home for their next game on Tuesday, October 19th at 7pm against Lesley University.
