Men's Lacrosse Picked To Finish Sixth In 2015 NEWMAC Poll

Boston, MA --- Defending New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) champion, Springfield College, is picked as the unanimous favorite to repeat in 2015, as the Pride received all eight first-place votes to top the NEWMAC men's lacrosse preseason poll.  Springfield claimed the inaugural NEWMAC regular season and tournament titles last year after accomplishing the same feat the previous six years in the Pilgrim League.

Babson College was selected second by the league coaches while Clark University and MIT tied for third in the voting.

Wheaton College garnered fifth place votes and associate member Massachusetts Maritime Academy was selected sixth.  U.S. Coast Guard Academy, which is sponsoring a varsity program for the first time, checks in seventh while Emerson College rounds out the selections in eighth place.

The season kicked off last week while league play gets underway on Saturday, March 28. The conference tournament will be held from April 29 - May 2.
