Men's Lacrosse To Embark On 17-Match Regular Season Slate In Deegan's Fifth Campaign

As winter’s winds continue to whip alongside the Cape Cod Canal, thoughts of warmer times to come pervade at Massachusetts Maritime.  And with that in mind, preparations will soon begin for the 2015 Buccaneer men’s lacrosse season, as Head Coach Rory Deegan’s squad will gear up for a rigorous 17-match regular season slate in the always-tough New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference.

Massachusetts Maritime begins Deegan’s fifth season at the helm on Saturday, March 7th by hosting Albertus Magnus in a non-league outing at Clean Harbors Stadium that faces off at 2:00 p.m. EDT.  The Buccaneers will play a total of seven home matches this spring, as Deegan’s squad will take on Saint Joseph’s (Maine), Plymouth State and Regis in non-league action while squaring off with Emerson, Clark and MIT in NEWMAC play.

Massachusetts Maritime will look to defend its title at the Second Annual Maritime Classic during the weekend of March 14-15, as the Buccaneers will take on Maine Maritime in the Admiral’s Cup clash before facing host SUNY-Maritime in a second round encounter.  Deegan’s crew will also head to Wentworth, Anna Maria, Salem State and UMass Dartmouth in a non-conference action while taking to the road for NEWMAC matches with nationally-ranked Springfield, Babson, league newcomer Coast Guard and Wheaton.
