BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Graham Davis (Crofton, Md.) netted five goals, while sophomore Harris Stolzenberg (Weston, Fla.) added four goals and three assists for seven points to lead MIT to an 18-13 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

The visiting Engineers (11-3, 4-1 NEWMAC) overcame an early 2-1 deficit by scoring four of the final five markers of the first quarter, including two off Stolzenberg’s stick, to take a 5-3 advantage after the opening 15 minutes of play.  Sophomore Joseph Landy’s (Chatham, N.J.) man-up goal 2:26 into the second stanza pulled the host Buccaneers (6-8, 1-4 NEWMAC) back to within one at 5-4, but MIT netted three straight and six of the final eight tallies of the half (including two more Stolzenberg goals) to take an 11-6 advantage at the break.  Freshman Keaghan Bartley (Richmond, Va.) scored twice in a 42 second span just 3:43 after intermission to pull Massachusetts Maritime back to within three at 11-8, but the Engineers used a run of six unanswered goals, including four that came off of Davis’s stick, to take control of the contest, as the Buccaneers got no closer than the final margin in the fourth quarter.
