BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Senior Mike Delia (Wading River, N.Y.) netted a hat trick and an assist for four points, while sophomore Ryon Lynch (Frederick, Md.) added a pair of goals and three assists to lead Springfield to a 17-3 Pilgrim Lacrosse League victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

The visiting Pride (8-3, 3-0 Pilgrim), who received votes in this week’s USILA Division III national poll, scored the first seven goals of the match and 10 of the 11 tallies in the opening 30 minutes of play en route to a 10-1 advantage at the break, as senior Shane Ferguson (Mamaroneck, N.Y.), sophomore Dom Roberto (Malden, Mass.) and freshman Curtis Skelley (Avon, Conn.) each chipped with a pair of goals for the winners.  Senior Mike Donoghue (Barnstable, Mass.), junior Matt Basile (Glastonbury, Conn.), sophomore Tim Lockrow (Rensselaer, N.Y.) and freshman Dylan Sheehan (Massapequa, N.Y.) added a marker and helper as well for Springfield, which also received tallies from junior Colby Verge (Derry, N.H.) and sophomore Kevin Freeman (Middletown, N.Y.) as well as assists from junior Dave Fraboni (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and sophomore Ryan Murphy (Mansfield, Mass.).

Senior Jake Bickley (Wilbraham, Mass.) netted a pair of goals in the setback for the host Buccaneers (5-7, 0-3 Pilgrim), who also received a marker and helper from junior John Hojnoski (West Springfield, Mass.) as well as an assist off the stick of senior Will Doucette (Manchester, Mass.).  Sophomore Rob Maher (Katonah, N.Y.) picked up the win in goal with one first half save for Springfield, which also received a pair of second half stops from sophomore Kevin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.).  Sophomore Paul Painten (Walpole, Mass.) made 11 saves in 38 minutes of action in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received three stops over the final 22 minutes from freshman Eric Kuehn (Norwell, Mass.).  The Pride outshot the Buccaneers by a 46-14 margin in claiming their 30th straight Pilgrim League victory, as the visitors forced 27 turnovers and held a 13-10 edge in face offs.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Boston on Thursday afternoon to take on Wheelock in a non-league outing that begins at 3:30 p.m., while Springfield hosts Clark in a Pilgrim Lacrosse League clash on Wednesday evening at Stagg Field in Springfield, Mass. beginning at 7:00 p.m.
