BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Sophomore Chris Annunciata (Waltham, Mass.) scored five goals, while fellow sophomore Zach Frank (Wakefield, Mass.) added a hat trick and two assists for five points to lead Plymouth State to an 18-3 non-league college men’s lacrosse victory over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

The visiting Panthers (2-1) scored the final 11 markers of the opening 30 minutes of action to snap an early 1-1 tie and take a 12-1 advantage at the break, as freshman Nick Morello (North Billerica, Mass.) added a hat trick for the winners, who also received a pair of tallies from sophomore Tyler Cote (San Antonio, Tex.).  Juniors Ty Long (Dover, N.H.) and Chris Moloney (Newton, Mass.) each added a marker and helper for Plymouth State, which also received goals off the sticks of senior Jared Woodell (Glens Falls, N.Y.), sophomore Kevin Driscoll (Holderness, N.H.) and freshman Scott Pelligrinelli (Glastonbury, Conn.).  Junior Stephen Patch (Newbury, N.H.) chipped in with three assists for the Panthers, who also received a pair of helpers from junior Devon Smith (Plattekill, N.Y.) as well as single assists from junior Mike Ventura (Columbia, N.J.), sophomore Brett Miller (Windham, N.H.) and freshmen Cody Carlson (Simsbury, Conn.) and Mike Curley (Billerica, Mass.).

Freshman Dylan Freudenberg (Islip, N.Y.) netted a pair of markers in the setback for the host Buccaneers (2-3), who also received a goal off the stick of senior Kyle Scannell (Tierra Verde, Fla.) as well as assists from junior John Hojnoski (West Springfield, Mass.) and freshman Adam Palilonis (Hightstown, N.J.).

Senior Jack Tyo (East Sandwich, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Plymouth State with five saves over the first 41 minutes of play, while sophomore Jesse Kutz (Hopkinton, Mass.) and freshman Zach Taylor (Littleton, Mass.) combined for a pair of stops over the final 19 minutes of action.  Sophomore Paul Painten (Walpole, Mass.) made a career-high 16 saves in the opening half of action for Massachusetts Maritime, while freshman Eric Kuehn (Norwell, Mass.) made three second half stops in his collegiate debut in goal as the Panthers outshot the Buccaneers by a 49-18 margin for the match.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Leicester, Mass. on Thursday afternoon to take on Becker in a non-league match that begins at 4:00 p.m., while Plymouth State heads to Boston on Thursday afternoon to square off with Wentworth in a non-league outing that begins at 5:00 p.m.
