Crawford and Paine Pick up MASCAC All-Conference Honors

WESTFIELD, Mass – Wednesday morning the MASCAC released the 2019 men's soccer All-Conference teams. A pair of Buccaneers, senior Adam Crawford (Kingston, Mass) and junior Ben Paine (Dartmouth, Mass) have been named to the second team. Last season, the duo was named to the MASCAC All-Conference first team.

This is the fourth All-Conference selection for Crawford in his career. He was named to the first team in his sophomore and junior seasons while being named to the second team in his freshman and senior seasons. Due to injury Adam played in just six games in 2019 for the Bucs, having started five of those contests. Though the sample size was small, his impact on the game was felt whenever he was on the pitch earning him his four All-Conference selection. In his career he totaled 10 goals, including three game winners, and seven assists from his midfield position. The Kinston, Mass native set a career high in his sophomore campaign with five goals. He posted a career high of three assists in his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Paine is not far behind Crawford as this is his third All-Conference selection in as many seasons. He was named to the first team last year and has earned second team honors in his freshman and junior seasons. Ben's durability and ability to stay on the field to hold the back line for the Bucs is what earned him All-Conference honors in 2019. In his career, he has played in and started 49 of a possible 49 games for head coach Greg Perry. Though the offensive stats are minimal, no goals and one assist in three seasons, his ability to take on any attacker and clear the ball from the zone has been invaluable to the program. A two-sport athlete, Ben has the same mentality and ability on the baseball field as the starting second baseman for the Buccaneers.

Following the 2019 season, Crawford's storied career as a Buccaneer has come to an end. Paine will be on the baseball field in the spring and back on the soccer pitch in the fall of 2020 for his senior season.
