Men's Soccer: Buccaneers Shutout by Seahawks

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Maritime hosted Salve Regina in non-conference play on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium. The Buccaneers were unable to hold off the Seahawks in a 4-0 Salve victory.

Maritime took nine shots in the game, two on target, both from Harry Cooley. Goalkeeper Quin Kelly made seven saves on 11 shots and allowed four goals in the loss.

Jordan Borges, Sam Winiarski, Liam Berlingieri, and Joe Logue each scored for the Seahawks. Borges added two assists, Alec Quiroz tallied one. Goalkeeper Aidan Figueira saved both shots he faced in the game.

Salve opened the scoring in the 14th minute on Berlingieri's goal, assisted by Borges. In the 30th minute, they made it two on Winiarski's score. The first half ended with the Seahawks leading 2-0.

In the 57th minute, Borges scored on a free kick just outside the box to the right of goal. Logue scored three minutes later in the 61st minute to round out the scoring.

The Buccaneers are on the road this Saturday to take on Salem State in Salem, MA at 1pm. Salem enters the game tied for first in the MASCAC at 1-0. Maritime is currently in fourth in the conference at 0-0-1.
