Second Half Goal Pushes Pride Past Buccaneers

WESTON, MA -- The Buccaneer men's soccer team traveled to Regis College on Saturday for their first of two games on Labor Day weekend. They fell to the Pride 2-1 at Regis Stadium.

Sophomore Ryan Soughou scored the Buccaneers lone goal on an assist from freshman Luke Twomey in a 2-1 loss to Regis in their team's season opener on Saturday. Sophomore goalkeeper Quin Kelly who transitioned to a keeper this season, made four saves in goal for Maritime in the game.

Federico Lavina-Ayalla scored the first goal of the day for Regis in the 22nd minute. They scored their second goal on an Aiden Falvey score on a pass from Zack Acciardo early in the second half. Goalkeeper Freddie Beckmann picked up the win with one save on two shots faced. 

The Pride outpaced the Buccaneers in shots, 15-4, and corner kicks, 8-2. 

The Buccaneers (0-1) open their home schedule on Labor Day, Monday, September 5th, at 3pm against Suffolk University at 3pm.
