Three Buccaneers Selected to All-LEC First Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Little East Conference announced the 2023 Men's Lacrosse postseason awards on Thursday morning. Three Buccaneers, Leo AllgaierJames Cassidy, and Mitchell Maida have been selected to the All-LEC First Team.

Allgaier, who changed positions this season from defense to long-stick midfielder, scored five goals and tallied seven assists in 15 games this season. The senior captain picked up 58 ground balls and caused 20 turnovers defensively. This is Allgaier's second appearance on an All-LEC Team; he was named to the Second Team last season.

Cassidy, making his first appearance on an LEC All-Conference Team, scored a goal, picked up 30 ground balls, caused nine turnovers, and won 11-of-17 faceoffs in 15 games this season for the Buccaneers. 

Maida, also named the Little East Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year, scored 58 goals with 21 assists in 15 games this season for 79 points. He picked up 46 ground balls and caused 18 turnovers defensively. Maida's Offensive Player of the Year nod is his first major award and his 1st Team All-LEC selection is his second time appearing on an All-LEC Team; he was named to the LEC All-Conference Second Team last season.
