Levesque Makes Eight Saves For Eighth Career Shutout As Women's Soccer Plays Scoreless Draw At SUNY-Maritime

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. --  Junior Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) made eight saves for her eighth career shutout as Massachusetts Maritime and SUNY-Maritime battled to a scoreless double overtime draw in a non-league college women’s soccer match played Saturday afternoon at Reinhart Field.

 

Levesque made four stops in the final 45 minutes of regulation and two more in the second extra session for the visiting Buccaneers (1-2-1), while junior Kristen Hoar (Buffalo, N.Y.) also made eight stops (four in the second half and one in the second overtime) for the host Privateers (1-4-1).  SUNY-Maritime held a 19-10 advantage in shots and a 12-6 edge in corner kicks on the day, as the two teams met for just the second time in school history and the first since 2009.

 

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Coast Guard in a non-league outing on Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while SUNY-Maritime entertains Yeshiva in a non-league match on Wednesday evening at Reinhart Field that begins at 8:00 p.m.
