Levesque Earns Second Straight NSCAA All-New England Region Women's Soccer Honor

Massachusetts Maritime junior women’s soccer goalkeeper Katie Levesque was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-New England Region team for a second straight season late last week, as she earned fourth team all-region honors for her performance during the 2014 Buccaneer campaign.

A native of Wilmot, N.H. and a graduate of Kearsarge Regional High School, Levesque is the only player in program history to earn NSCAA accolades, as she was named to the all-New England Region second team in 2013.  She earned first team all-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for a second straight season this fall after making 151 saves and posting a .799 saves percentage while collecting three wins and three shutouts for Head Coach Ray Cabral’s crew, as she holds every goalkeeping record in school history and will enter her final collegiate campaign just five saves shy of the 500 career mark.

A three-time all-MASCAC pick overall, Levesque served as one of Massachusetts Maritime’s tri-captains this season.  She has recorded 10 career shutouts and sports a 2.89 goals against average while topping the 150-save plateau in each of her three years on the pitch, including a school record 175 stops during her sophomore campaign in 2013.
