FINAL:              MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 1, REGIS 1 (DOUBLE OVERTIME)

WESTON, Mass. --  Senior Lauren Salem's (Westfield, Mass.) conversion of a direct kick in the 34th minute provided the equalizer and lifted Massachusetts Maritime to a 1-1 double overtime draw with Regis in a non-league college women's soccer match played Tuesday evening at Regis Stadium.

Salem's second marker of the season for the visiting Buccaneers (1-0-1) came from 25 yards out and proved to be the final score of the contest, as junior Adena Joseph (Stoughton, Mass.) had given the host Pride (2-0-1) the early advantage in the 17th minute of play after converting a feed from senior Tess McLean (West Roxbury, Mass.).  Regis pressed the attack zone for the entire match, finishing with 41 total shots (including 30 in the final 65 minutes of play alone), but Massachusetts Maritime sophomore keeper Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) kept the score tied by making 19 saves, including 10 in the second half and six in the two extra sessions, to give the visitors the draw.

Sophomore Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) made a pair of stops on the three shots she faced in the tie for the Pride, who took all 12 corner kicks in the contest.  The tie gives the Buccaneers their first unbeaten start in the program's six-year varsity history.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Paxton, Mass. on Thursday afternoon to take on Anna Maria in a non-league outing that begins at 4:00 p.m., while Regis travels to Wellesley, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to face Wellesley in a non-league match beginning at 1:00 p.m.
