FINAL:              MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 0, ANNA MARIA 0 (DOUBLE OVERTIME)

PAXTON, Mass. --  Sophomore Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) made four saves to record her second shutout of the season and third of her career as Massachusetts Maritime remained unbeaten on the young season in battling Anna Maria to a scoreless double overtime draw in a college women’s soccer match played Thursday afternoon at Amcat Field.

Levesque made three saves over the final 65 minutes of play for the visiting Buccaneers (1-0-2), who are off to the best start in the program’s six year history.  Massachusetts Maritime had several good scoring chances in the two extra sessions, including two in the second overtime period, but was unable to capitalize in posting its second straight tie.

Sophomore Teresa Ryan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) made six saves over the final 51-plus minutes of play in the draw for the host Amcats (2-1-1), which also received a pair of stops from junior Cristina Turley (Waterford, Conn.).  The Buccaneers outshot Anna Maria by a 13-11 margin in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to New London, Conn. on Tuesday evening to take on Coast Guard in a non-league outing that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Anna Maria heads to Newton Centre, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to face Lasell in its Great Northeast Athletic Conference opener at 2:30 p.m.
