Levesque Earns First Team All-MASCAC Women's Soccer Honors, Named To All-League Squad For Second Straight Season

Massachusetts Maritime sophomore goalkeeper Katie Levesque earned a spot on the 2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference team that was announced by the league office earlier today, as the Buccaneers’ netminder was named to the first-team all-conference squad after earning second-team honors as a freshman last season.

A native of Wilmot, N.H. and a graduate of Kearsarge Regional High School, Levesque started all 15 matches for Head Coach Ray Cabral’s crew, as she broke her own school record while leading the conference for a second straight season with 175 saves, including a school-record 27 stops against Westfield State back on October 5th.  Levesque also registered a school-record six shutouts during the fall for Massachusetts Maritime and was named as the MASCAC Player of the Week on September 15th after stopping 23 of 24 shots in a 1-1 draw at Regis on September 10th and a scoreless tie at Anna Maria on September 12th.

Over the past two seasons, Levesque has set all of the Buccaneer single-season and career goalkeeping marks, as she has started in all 29 matches played while making 344 saves and posting seven shutouts.

Levesque helped lead Massachusetts Maritime to its highest single-season victory total in the program’s six-year varsity history this fall, as the Buccaneers posted four wins and three ties in their 15 contests this season, including a 7-0 triumph over Pine Manor on October 9th that gave Cabral his 100th career women’s collegiate victory.
