FINAL:              MCLA 1, MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 0 (OVERTIME)

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. --  Junior Dylan Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) netted the golden goal 16 seconds into overtime to lift MCLA to a 1-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Shewcraft Field.

Pereira intercepted a clearing pass and lofted a shot from 20 yards out that skipped in for the deciding tally (his fourth of the season) for the host Trailblazers (3-7-2, 2-3 MASCAC), and sophomore Kamron Anderson (Springfield, Mass.) made that stand up in goal with four saves to earn his third victory of the season for MCLA.

Junior Joe Cohen (Plymouth, Mass.) made one save in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (4-8, 2-3 MASCAC), who held a 19-14 advantage in overall shots, including a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.  The Trailblazers took five of the eight corner kicks in the contest and collected the game-winner despite being outshot by an 11-6 margin over the final 45-plus minutes of play.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Coast Guard in a non-league outing on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while MCLA hosts Montclair State in a non-league match on Wednesday afternoon at Shewcraft Field that begins at 3:00 p.m.
