Rouette, McDonough Earn Spots On MASCAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team For Second Straight Season

Massachusetts Maritime defensive standouts Michael Rouette and Matthew McDonough were named to the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer all-conference squad for a second straight season in a vote of the league’s coaches, as Rouette once again earned first-team accolades while McDonough copped a consecutive spot on the second team.

Rouette, a native of Three Rivers, Mass. and a graduate of Monson High School, finished third on the Buccaneer scoring list with a pair of goals and three assists for seven points this fall, as both he and McDonough were a part of a defensive unit that recorded a pair of shutouts and limited opponents to just a goal on five other occasions.  McDonough, a native of Framingham, Mass. and a graduate of Framingham High School, started in all 17 contests for Massachusetts Maritime this fall, and he has started in 50 of his 53 career matches played while usually drawing the toughest opponent defensive assignment.

Rouette and McDonough helped lead Head Coach Greg Perry’s squad to its third straight post-season berth this fall for the first time in program history, as Massachusetts Maritime recorded five overall victories (three in MASCAC play).  The Buccaneers have advanced to the conference semifinals in two of the last three years and dropped a 3-2 double overtime decision to Bridgewater State in the MASCAC quarterfinals Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.
