Sullo Named As MASCAC Baseball Rookie Of The Week For Third Time This Season

Massachusetts Maritime freshman catcher Logan Sullo was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Monday afternoon for his efforts in four Buccaneer contests played last week.

A native of Dartmouth, Mass. and a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, Sullo batted .500 (5-10) with a double and three runs scored, including three hits in a 6-2 victory over Bridgewater State last Tuesday afternoon to go with a pair of hits and two runs scored in a 3-1 triumph at MCLA on Saturday.  He posted a .600 slugging percentage and a .545 on-base percentage as well for the week.

Sullo, who was tabbed as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week on March 30th and named as the league’s Player and Rookie of the Week on April 6th, leads Head Coach Bob Corradi’s squad with a .467 batting average that includes six doubles, three triples, a homer and nine RBI in 14 games played.

Massachusetts Maritime, which stands at 11-9 overall and 6-4 in MASCAC play, hosts Framingham State in a key league doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at Commodore Hendy Field beginning at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
