Sullo Earns Spots On ABCA All-Region, NEIBA All-New England Baseball Squads

Buzzards  Bay, Mass. --  Massachusetts Maritime freshman Logan Sullo has added a pair of accolades to his already impressive rookie season on the diamond, as he earned second team utility spots on both the American Baseball Coaches Association All-New England Region and New England Intercollegiate Baseball Coaches Association All-New England squads that were announced late last week.

A native of Acushnet, Mass. and a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, Sullo earned the nod as both the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player and Rookie of the Year after batting a league-leading .446 to go with eight doubles, six triples, a pair of homers and 18 RBI.  He also led the conference with a .543 on-base percentage and a .797 slugging percentage, as those respective marks rank him seventh and eighth nationally in NCAA Division III play as of last week.  Logan, who served as a catcher, outfielder and designated hitter during the year, ranks 14th nationally in Division III in batting average and second in the country in triples per game heading into the conclusion of the Division III World Series this week.

Sullo became the first Buccaneer to cop MASCAC Player of the Year honors and the third player in program history to earn league Rookie of the Year accolades, as he joined Bob Kent (2006) and Nick Levitre (2008) in that exclusive club.  He is the 19th player in Massachusetts Maritime history to earn all-New England honors and the first since teammate Bobby Rosano in 2013.

Sullo, a two-time MASCAC Player and four-time MASCAC Rookie of the Week selection, helped lead Head Coach Bob Corradi’s squad to their first MASCAC championship in 33 years this spring with 17 overall victories, including a 10-4 conference slate.  The Buccaneers also advanced to the ECAC New England semifinals and posted their highest single-season win total in seven years.
