WAKEFIELD, R.I. -- Buccaneer sailing traveled to Rhode Island on Saturday for the Priddy trophy hosted by URI. Competing against Salve Regina, URI, Tufts, Middlebury, Fairfield, UNH and UConn, the Bucs finished in sixth place.

In the six events on the day, the Bucs placed top three in one race, finishing in fifth in two races and sixth in three. Maritime finished with 31 points, eight points ahead of UNH and 21 points ahead of UConn. 

Salve Regina won the event with a score of 13, outpacing host URI by one point. 

Maritime finished four points behind Fairfield who finished tied for fourth with Middlebury with 27 points.

The Bucs are at Maine Maritime next weekend and will also be hosting a Dinghy event on Herring Pond.
