CASTINE, ME -- The Buccaneer sailing team sent a squad to Maine Maritime this weekend to compete in the New England Dinghy Tournament. In a field of eight teams, the Bucs finished second overall.

With 102 points, two first place finishes and two second place finishes in individual events, the Bucs took home silver in the tournament. Fairfield University swept the weekend to take first place 42 points ahead of the Buccaneers boat. 

The Bucs did finish ahead of Maine Maritime's two boats one by seven points to capture second place, the other by 22 points as the second Maine boat finished fifth.

Bates College rounded out the top five, finishing fourth with a score of 118.

Mass. Maritime sailing will be back at it on Saturday, April 16th for a host of Easter weekend events.
