Genereux Named As MASCAC Baseball Co-Pitcher Of The Week
Massachusetts Maritime sophomore Tyler Genereux was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon for his performance in a pair of contests for the Buccaneers last week.
A native of Duxbury, Mass. and a graduate of Duxbury High School, Genereux posted a 1-0 mark with a 2.70 earned run average to go with 15 strikeouts in 10 innings of work. He tossed a complete-game five-hitter and struck out a career-high 12 in Massachusetts Maritime’s 3-1 victory over Rivier Sunday afternoon at Commodore Hendy Field.
Genereux, who shared the conference honor with Bridgewater State’s Corey Batista, held opponents to a .211 batting average on the mound last week, as the Buccaneers have won four straight and continue a nine-game homestand on Tuesday afternoon by hosting Gordon in a non-league outing at Commodore Hendy Field that begins at 3:00 p.m. EDT.
