Baseball Set To Open Corradi's 39th Campaign At Helm February 27th With Sunshine State Twinbill Against Marywood

The start of the 2011 Massachusetts Maritime baseball season is just around the corner, and the Buccaneers are set for another challenging schedule during Head Coach Bob Corradi’s 39th campaign in Buzzards Bay.

Massachusetts Maritime will conclude its annual Southern swing with a season-opening non-league doubleheader on Sunday, February 27th against Marywood (Pa.) in Fort Pierce, Fla. beginning at 6:00 p.m. EST.  The Buccaneers return home to begin their Northern slate on Saturday, March 19th by hosting Lyndon State in a non-league twinbill at Commodore Hendy Field beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT, and Corradi’s crew opens Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday, April 2nd by entertaining MCLA in a pair of league contests at Commodore Hendy Field that also begin at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

Corradi, who has posted 513 victories during his tenure at Massachusetts Maritime that began back in 1973, will see his Buccaneers play 21 games in the friendly confines overlooking Buttermilk Bay, including doubleheaders against Lyndon State, Rivier, Fisher, Salem State, Westfield State and Bridgewater State.  Massachusetts Maritime begins its Northern schedule with a nine game home stand that stretches from March 19-29, and the Buccaneers will square off with three teams who participated in the NCAA tournament a year ago.
