Volleyball Plays Underdog after Eighth Place Finish in Preseason Poll
WESTFIELD, Mass -- The Buccaneers volleyball team is gearing up for their 2024 season under second-year head coach Cary Clark. After a four-win season in 2023, the Bucs are back stronger and with their largest roster in program history.
Along with returners and captains Marlo Stark, Audrey Manning, and Shayla Narodowg along with a handful of notable faces from last season, the Bucs welcome in their largest recruiting class in the history of Maritime volleyball.
Having failed to win a conference match since 2017, the Bucs were voted to finish eighth in the conference's preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
The Bucs have a 26-match schedule on tap for the 2024 season and have no issue playing the underdog in the MASCAC. The Bucs open their season with a non-conference tri-match with Mitchell College and Anna Maria College on Saturday, September 7th. Notably, they will host a match against Fisher College on Homecoming weekend, they will open their conference schedule on October 1st against Fitchburg State at home, and will host their Senior Night match on November 9th against Bridgewater State.
