BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Senior Danielle Girard (Tivoli, N.Y.) registered eight kills to lead Framingham State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-7, 25-5 and 25-9 in a league match played Wednesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

 

Junior Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) added seven kills, five digs and four solo blocks for the visiting Rams (13-2, 3-0 MASCAC), who also received five kills and three digs from senior Annie DeLoid (Plymouth, Mass.).  Sophomore Molly Meehan (Quincy, Mass.) added six digs and five set assists for Framingham State, which received four service aces from junior Sara Malicka (Southington, Conn.) and a combined 21 set assists from sophomore Sarah Leonard (Southboro, Mass.) and freshmen Lauren Salisbury (Cranston, R.I.) and Mackenzie Whalen (Norton, Mass.).

 

Freshman Jennifer Roy (Attleboro, Mass.) notched four kills in the setback for the host Buccaneers (1-12, 0-2 MASCAC), who also received three kills and six digs from junior Meaghan Brain (Hanson, Mass.) as well as three kills from senior Emily Calnan (Hingham, Mass.).  Senior Charleen Klangos (Lowell, Mass.) chipped in with eight digs and two kills for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received nine set assists from junior Emma Ethier (Norton, Mass.) and six digs from freshman Kaleigh Hoffman (Noblesville, Ind.).

 

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Saturday afternoon for a non-league doubleheader with Pine Manor that begins at 11:00 a.m., while Framingham State travels to Norton, Mass. on Saturday afternoon for a non-league tri-match with MIT and host Wheaton beginning at 1:00 p.m.
