Klangos Registers 10 Kills, O'Connor Adds 21 Digs As Volleyball Drops 3-0 Non-League Decision At Bay Path

HOLYOKE, Mass. --  Sophomore Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) notched eight kills, five service aces and 13 digs to lead Bay Path to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-10 in a match played Saturday afternoon at the Bartley Center.

 

Senior Elizabeth Haylette (Terryville, Conn.) also registered eight kills and six digs in the triumph for the host Wildcats (8-10), who also received six kills from junior Jennifer Pham (Springfield, Mass.) as well as four kills each from junior Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) and freshman Taylor Heinbokel (Agawam, Mass.).  Freshman Jo Nazario (Springfield, Mass.) chipped in with 16 digs for Bay Path, which also received 26 set assists from freshman Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.).

 

Senior Charleen Klangos (Lowell, Mass.) collected a match-high 10 kills and seven digs in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (4-19), who also received a combined eight kills from senior Emily Calnan (Hingham, Mass.) and freshman Jennifer Roy (Attleboro, Mass.).  Junior Stephanie O’Connor (Westwood, Mass.) registered 21 digs and a pair of service aces on the day for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received 14 set assists form junior Emma Ethier (Norton, Mass.) in falling to the hosts for the second time this season.

 

Massachusetts Maritime will be idle until next Saturday, October 31st when the Buccaneers close out their 2015 season by hosting Westfield State in doubleheader action at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at Noon, as the first contest of the day will be a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match.  Bay Path heads to Leicester, Mass. on Wednesday evening to take on Becker in a New England Collegiate Conference clash that begins at 7:00 p.m.
