Lee, Rosano & Kennedy Earn Second Team MASCAC Baseball All-Conference Accolades

Massachusetts Maritime placed three student-athletes on the 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball all-conference team that was announced earlier today, as senior Bob Lee, junior Bobby Rosano and sophomore Kyle Kennedy each earned second-team all-league honors.

Lee, a native of Braintree, Mass. and a graduate of Braintree High School, batted .318 while starting 27 of 30 contests in the outfield for Head Coach Bob Corradi’s Buccaneers this spring, as he rapped out 26 hits (five for extra bases) and drove in seven runs.  Lee posted a team-leading .452 on-base percentage that included 19 walks, and he handled all 58 chances in the field without an error.

Rosano, a native of North Reading, Mass. and a graduate of North Reading High School, earned his second straight all-MASCAC accolade at shortstop for Massachusetts Maritime, as he batted .302 in starting all 30 games while collecting a team-leading 32 hits, including 10 for extra bases.  Rosano drove in 17 runs and added a team-best 11 stolen bases on the season while joining the Buccaneer 100-hit club in a 4-0 victory over MCLA on April 21st.

Kennedy, a native of Woodbury, Conn. and a graduate of Nonnewaug High School, was honored for his efforts on the mound this spring, as he posted a perfect 5-0 mark in 10 appearances (three starts) while recording a 1.90 earned run average.  In 42 2/3 innings of work, he allowed just 36 hits and nine earned runs while striking out 39 (8.22 per nine innings) and holding opponents to a .229 batting average.  All three of Kennedy’s starts were complete game efforts, including an 8-2 triumph at Bridgewater State on April 16th.

Corradi’s Buccaneers posted 15 overall victories (including six in league play) during the 2014 season, Massachusetts Maritime’s highest win total in six years.
