Corradi Honored For Service To American Legion Baseball At District 10 All-Star Game
Massachusetts Maritime Head Baseball Coach and Director of Athletics Bob Corradi was honored on Monday evening for his longtime contributions to American Legion baseball at the District 10 American Legion All-Star Game at McKeon Field in Hyannis.
Corradi, who completed his 41st season with the Buccaneers last spring and is entering his 25th year as the Academy’s Athletics Director, served as a coach for the East Division squad in the contest. He received a plaque in recognition for his many years of service as head coach of the Clark-Haddad Post 188 American Legion team in Sandwich, which was “presented in deep appreciation and respect for your unyielding support of the game, its players and its mission of the core values of Americanism.” Corradi’s Post 188 squads produced numerous future college stars over the years, including current Miami Marlins closer Steve Cishek.
The last calendar year has brought two other major awards for Corradi, who will enter his 42nd season at Massachusetts Maritime with 547 career victories next spring, as he received the Fred Ebbett Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cape Cod Baseball League last November after being feted with the Andy Baylock Award from the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association in June 2012 that honored his distinguished service to New England collegiate baseball.
