Correia Makes 15 Saves As Women's Lacrosse Drops 18-3 MASCAC Decision At Bridgewater State

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. --  Sophomore Gabby Reinold (Braintree, Mass.) netted four goals to lead Bridgewater State to an 18-3 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s lacrosse victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday evening at Swenson Field.

 

The host Bears (6-2, 2-0 MASCAC) jumped out to a 13-0 advantage at the break and scored the first 15 goals of the contest, as freshman Elizabeth Ettridge (Marshfield, Mass.) added a hat trick and an assist for the winners.  Juniors Alex King (North Weymouth, Mass.) and Melissa Renauld (Framingham, Mass.) chipped in with two goals and three assists each for Bridgewater State, which also received two tallies and a pair of helpers from senior Lauren Geary (Hull, Mass.).  Senior Marissa Yowell (Ashland, Mass.) collected two markers and an assist as well for the Bears, who also received a goal and three helpers from freshman Kerrin O’Leary (Millbury, Mass.).  Senior Amanda Liebetruth (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and sophomore Haley Riley (Wakefield, Mass.) accounted for the other two goals on the night for Bridgewater State, which received a single helper from sophomore Rebecca McGlone (Salem, Conn.).

 

Junior Ashley Solari (Sandwich, Mass.) and sophomore Stephanie Hunt (Brookfield, Conn.) each netted a goal and an assist in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (4-4, 1-1 MASCAC), who also received a tally from junior Christina Murphy (Forestdale, Mass.).  Junior Emily Langlois (Agawam, Mass.) picked up the win in her first career start in goal for Bridgewater State with a three-save effort, while sophomore Mikayla Correia (Dartmouth, Mass.) made 15 stops in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime as the Bears outshot the Buccaneers by a 47-10 margin for the contest.

 

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Chicopee, Mass. on Thursday evening to take on Elms in a non-league outing that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Bridgewater State travels to Plymouth, N.H. on Tuesday afternoon to square off with Plymouth State in a non-league contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
